This buttery seasoned crackers recipe is one of my favorites because it can be made in minutes and using ingredients I already have on hand. This recipe was a common one practiced amongst vintage housewives, as it is a quick, frugal appetizer solution when you need to get snacks on the table fast.
Seasoning crackers is such a simple way to dress up a boring sleeve of crackers, turning them into a savory appetizer everyone will adore. You can’t argue with an appetizer that only costs a few bucks to throw together and uses pantry staples you already have!

Well, you’ve found it! The nice thing about this buttery seasoned crackers recipe is that with proper storage they will stay fresh for days. You can make them ahead of time and store in an air tight container where they will stay crisp and ready for use.
What seasonings do you use for baked crackers?
You have some flexibility when it comes to making seasoned crackers. And the nice thing is, you can adjust ingredients based on your tastes and preferences.
For our seasoned cracker recipe we use butter, sesame seed, celery seed, and a few other spices we favor. Should you see something you don’t like, simply omit it. If you have a seasoning you really love, try adding it.
How to Make Buttery Seasoned Crackers
Here are the ingredients you will need to complete this recipe. Feel free to add or omit to your tastes. You really can’t go wrong!
– 1 sleeve of saltine crackers
– 1 stick of butter
– 1 teaspoon celery seed
– 1 teaspoon poppy seed
– `1 teaspoon sesame seed
Other seasoning you could try adding include caraway seed, black sesame seeds, dried dill, or even dried rosemary.
How to bake your seasoned saltine crackers:
1. Melt the two sticks of butter in a microwave safe bowl. Stir well.
2. Stir in the dried seasonings of your choice. Mix well.
3. Place the crackers on a cookie sheet (no need to spray first, if you wish to add wax paper you can) evenly.
4. Brush the buttery mixture onto the crackers. Apply evenly.
5. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden.
I will warn you, as these seasoned crackers are very hard to put down once you start snacking on them! Try serving them with assorted cheese and meats, or enjoy them just as they are.
