How to Freeze Soup

You can easily make this soup ahead of time and then just heat and eat! If you wish, you can easily make it and refrigerate it for next day use. If you want to keep a stash of this chowder, or any soup for that matter, on hand for the winter months you can easily freeze it. Here is how to freeze soup.

Allow soup to completely cool before putting it in your storage container. Use a freezer safe, air tight container. The lid for your container should be a screw on/twist on lid that fastens tightly. Avoid using press on lids as these don’t remain as air tight.

When putting soup in, leave some room at the top of the container for expansion. Place the lid on tightly. Be sure to mark the container with the contents as well as date. You can then place the container in a freezer bag if you wish for extra safe storage.
